the Teeth Beneath

The Teeth Beneath series is a collection of mixed-media paintings created in collaboration with Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium for the crocodilian exhibit of the same name. Altogether, eight paintings showcasing two of Florida’s native species (the American alligator and the American crocodile) and its two invasive habitats (the Common or Speckled caiman and the Nile crocodile). Each painting consisted of watercolors, colored pencils, and ink. Each animal portrayed except for the Nile crocodile was based on individual animals located in Palm Dale’s very own Gatorama.
